Dodgers news: Brusdar Graterol, Shohei Ohtani, Rich Hill

The Dodgers and Baltimore Orioles meet one more time in a series that has had plenty of ups and downs so far, then head off to Arizona and Anaheim for a short road trip as the regular season begins its final month. In the meantime, here’s what’s happening.

Brusdar Graterol could back with the Dodgers in early September, writes Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. Graterol threw a 30-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday afternoon and said that his injured hamstring has been feeling good. Roberts reported that Graterol will be going out on assignment soon.

Former Dodger Rich Hill got the call up from the Boston Red Sox and will start for the team after a two-inning appearance in triple-A, his only one this season, writes Steve Henson at the Los Angeles Times. Hill, age 44, also spent part of this season coaching his son’s Little League team.

In case you missed it, Shohei Ohtani’s dog fetched the ceremonial first pitch of yesterday’s game in honor of the pair’s bobblehead night. Fans were so eager to get their own bobblehead that Roberts and Ohtani himself were both bewildered by the extent of the crowds as they tried to get into the stadium, writes Fabian Ardaya at The Athletic.

Oh, and those limited edition, gold-painted bobbleheads that were given out? Those are listed on the resale market for as much as $20,000, reports Matthew Graham at Sports Illustrated, with Fox Sports LA reporting one listed at $70,000.
