A drink-driving socialite killed two young boys in front of their parents – then drove off with one of them still stuck to the front of her Mercedes, police say.

Magazine publisher Rebecca Grossman, 57, struck and killed nine year-old Jacob Iskander and his brother Mark, 11, in Westlake Village, California, on Tuesday evening. Their parents heard her powerful car speeding towards them as they walked over a marked crosswalk, and pulled two of their children back – but were unable to save Jacob and Mark.

ABC7 say police believe Grossman – whose father-in-law founded the famed Grossman Burns Center – may have been drunk and street-racing when the tragedy happened. One of the two boys was carried on the hood of her white Mercedes for 100 feet after she struck him, it is claimed.

After the youngster fell off the hood of the car, Grossman is then said to have driven over him and sped off, before pulling over a mile and a half away. One of the two boys died at the scene, with the other pronounced dead in hospital shortly afterwards.

The youngsters were struck and killed as they crossed a street with their parents and two siblings.

Captain Salvador Berecca, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, said: ‘The children were walking with their family. It is a very tragic situation.

‘The mother and father were able to pull the other two children back in time, and the vehicle struck the two other children.’

A scooter and a set of roller blades were spotted lying on the ground close to the taped-off scene of the death smash.

Investigators say they have a video of the smash.

California State Senator Henry Stern called the smash a ‘devastating loss’ for the Westlake Community.

Grossman, the former publisher of Westlake magazine, has been charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter, and is free on $2million bond ahead of her next court appearance.

She is the wife of current Grossman Burn Center director Dr Peter Grossman, and also helped set up the Grossman Burn Foundation nonprofit, NBCLA reported.
