When the quarter-final draw was made a few weeks ago, the reaction would have been the same across Real Madrid and Manchester City fans:

It is the third season in a row they have been drawn against each other in the Champions League and, as Europe's two most-feared teams, they both will have hoped to avoid each other until the semi-final, or possibly the final.
