NFL Week 15 picks: Consider Lions, Chiefs and Bengals on Sunday

Lorenzo Reyes explains why he likes the Lions, Chiefs and Bengals in Week 15.

EAST RUTHERFORD - In a season of dark and unwanted moments for the New York Giants, the bleakest may be on deck.

The Giants have lost eight games in a row and have yet to win at MetLife Stadium in seven tries heading into Sunday's game against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. They have not gone winless at home since 1974, and that year the Giants played their games at the Yale Bowl in Connecticut.

On the anniversary of their 100th season as a franchise, the Giants (2-11) have not done much celebrating. They are in the hunt for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and still are seeking their franchise quarterback of the future.

Head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are facing job security questions at seemingly every turn.

And the Giants are facing the largest point spread not just in the NFL this season - they are 16.5-point underdogs - but their greatest at home since 1966.

The roster is depleted. Two more starters went on injured reserve this week - left guard Jon Runyan Jr. and rookie safety Tyler Nubin, both with ankle injuries - and Tommy DeVito is set to get his second start of the season with Drew Lock listed as doubtful due to a heel injury.

Lamar Jackson has his fourth touchdown pass of the game, again to a receiver running wide open into the secondary as Devontez Walker makes the grab. The Giants have done a relatively good job on the ground in limiting Derrick Henry (12 carries, 53 yards) from wrecking the game, but in the process Jackson has picked them apart. The Ravens' star QB has completed 17-of-19 passes for 204 yards and four scores.

Tim Boyle took the last snap of the first half in victory formation, and now we know why: Tommy DeVito is being evaluated for a concussion. After testing, DeVito indeed has a concussion. He did not come out of the Giants locker room from halftime, so Boyle will get the rest of the game.

Drew Lock, the emergency third QB, is loosening up on the sideline as well. He came in as doubtful to play with heel and elbow injuries.

Lamar Jackson burned the Giants again, first with his legs and then his arm. His scramble put the defense on its heels and then Jackson tossed a perfect strike to Rashod Bateman, their second touchdown connection of the game, this time from 20 yards out.

Devin Singletary gets the Giants into the end zone with a three-yard touchdown run, a much-needed score for the home team, which is hanging around. Tommy DeVito's fourth down throw to Wan'Dale Robinson to keep the drive alive earlier in the possession was a thing of beauty, threading the needle to Robinson despite tight coverage from Ravens star safety Kyle Hamilton. Malik Nabers has five catches so far and has drawn a pair of defensive penalties from the Baltimore secondary.

Rookie Tyrone Tracy has been a beast in pass protection.

Just like that, the Giants are down two touchdowns. They were moving the ball on offense and Tommy DeVito completed a third down pass to Wan'Dale Robinsin, who was drilled one yard short of the sticks by Ravens star safety Kyle Hamilton.

The Giants got to the line and called a DeVito sneak, but he was stacked up for the turnover on downs.

The Ravens did not waste any time with Jackson rolling out and hitting receiver Rashod Bateman for a 49-yard touchdown. Bateman juked a pair of Giants defenders (Jason Pinnock and Greg Stroman) to get into the end zone for what feels like an insurmountable 14-point hole.

Brian Burns recorded his 8th sack this season. He became just the eighth player in NFL history to record 7.5+ sacks in each of their first six seasons to begin their career. The other seven players to accomplish this feat are:

  • Reggie White
  • Derrick Thomas
  • Jared Allen
  • Demarcus Ware
  • Ryan Kerrigan
  • Aaron Donald
  • Yannick Ngakoue

Another long return on special teams, this time on a short punt by Jamie Gillan that seemingly got caught up in the wind. Desmond King brought the ball back into Giants territory, and while the defense had a moment when Brian Burns sacked Lamar Jackson, the Ravens had the last laugh: on the next play, he hit Mark Andrews for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

The Ravens were rolling ... until they weren't.

Justice Hill brought the opening kick back 59 yards, and after a Lamar Jackson completion to Zay Flowers, Jackson took off and raced for another 15 yards into the red zone.

That's where Adoree' Jackson ripped the ball away from Lamar, and he recovered the fumble himself. So the Giants' defense took the first punch and managed to get up off the mat.

The pick: Ravens 27, Giants 10
