Quincy Wilson Will Be On The US 4x400 Relay Prelim On Friday
Quincy Wilson will finally get his time at the Paris Olympics on Friday. The Bullis School rising junior will lead-off the U.S. 4x400 team in the prelims.

Quincy Wilson will get his moment at the Paris Olympics.

The 16-year-old Virginia native and high school star for Bullis School (MD) will lead-off the U.S. 4x400 relay team on Friday in the preliminaries, FloTrack has confirmed with a source with knowledge of the decision.

The U.S. 4x400 team is being coached by Mike Marsh.

Wilson, a member of the U.S. relay pool after finishing sixth at the U.S. Olympic Trials, has yet to feature at the Olympics, but is coming off a performance at the 400m in July where he ran 44.20 seconds at the Holloway Pro Classic.

Wilson has clocked four straight sub-45 second efforts at the distance since June, with consecutive times of 44.66, 44.59, 44.94 and 44.20.

In April, Wilson split two straight sub-45 second performances at the Penn Relays as a member of the Bullis School 4x400, clocking consecutive splits of 44.37 and 44.69.

He owns the World U18 record at the distance and the high school national record. He became the first American teenager to break Darrell Robinson's long-time high school national record of 44.69, which was first set in 1982.

Wilson arrived in Paris ahead of the opening ceremonies and has been on-hand to witness the U.S.'s dominance in track and field, where they've picked up 19 medals, including six of those being gold.

Wilson, however, was not a part of the team's mixed relay relay, where the Americans broke a world record on Aug. 2 and then finished second in the final on Aug. 3. Wilson's performance in the 4x4 on Friday -- scheduled time is 5:05 a.m. EST -- is much anticipated and would mark a historic mark for the U.S. track and field team, as Wilson would become the youngest athlete to ever feature on the squad.
