PSG 2-0 Real Sociedad (Mbappe, Barcola)
A runners-up finish could have led to a really tricky Round of 16 tie, but PSG were relatively fortunate as Real Sociedad, one of the tournament's more inexperienced teams, were their opponents.
As the runners up, it was a home tie first for Luis Enrique's side and they took advantage of playing in front of their own supporters.
Mbappe opened the scoring, as he often does, after a goalless first half before 21-year-old Bradley Barcola made it 2-0 with a deft finish.
And that is how the game finished, with PSG taking a two-goal lead to San Sebastian for the second leg.
