Prince George firefighters free boy stuck in planter

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) -Firefighters in Prince George County received a call Thursday night that resulted in a viral TikTok.
Crews said, “curious little adventurer,” Adonis “Donnie,” trapped himself in a planter and needed the help of professionals to rescue him.
The boy’s mom, Ebony Chappell, posted the video on TikTok. As of Friday, it had more than one million views and more than 43k likes.
“I have a group I interact with daily on TikTok, so I figured it would just hit them and get maybe 15-20 comments,” said Adonis’ mom, Ebony Chappell.
Most people commented about how “unbothered” he looked during the ordeal and how he never let go of his bag of chips.
Chappell tells 12 On Your Side that Adonis is never scared, and the chips got him into the situation.
“He got the chips, but it’s empty now, and I guess that’s just space and opportunity for him,” Chappell said.
She said that for 15 minutes, she, her husband and her daughter all tried to wiggle Adonis out of the planter, swinging him back and forth, but nothing they did worked.
Prince George’s rescue crews contemplated plenty of strategies to free the toddler.
“I actually had the idea to lay the basket down with him in it on his back,” said Prince George Fire-Medic David Millhouse. “We just guide his knees down. The Battalion Chief was able to pull him up, push his legs down and got him straightened up and got him out.”
Donnie’s parents say that when he got out, he ran off to play, and three-year-old Adonis was safe and sound.
