Hands-On With Google's New Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel Watch

Google today launched the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. These phones will directly compete against the iPhone 14 line-up. It also introduced the Pixel Watch, a competitor to the Apple Watch. Dan Barbera, MacRumors videographer, was present at Google's event and was able to have some hands-on experience with the new devices so that we could compare them to Apple's latest product line.
The Pixel 7 starts at $599 and features a brighter 6.3 inch display with a hole-punch camera cutout and a matte aluminum enclosure. It also has a Gorilla Glass Victus front- and back. It features a Google-designed Tensor G2 processor with 8GB RAM, a dual-rear camera system that includes a "cinematic blur" feature, wide and ultra-wide lenses, and a Tensor G2 chip from Google.The Pixel 7 Pro starts at $899. This larger model has a 6.7-inch screen (the same size of the 14 Plus and Pro Max), a Tensor G2 Chip with 12GB RAM, a triple lens camera system that includes a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 50-megapixel wide lens. There is also a 48-megapixel Telephoto lens and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. Macro focus, Cinematic Blur, 30x Super Res Zoom, Cinematic Blur, and Real Tone are some of the camera features.
Google has added a new built-in VPN feature to its Pixel 7 smartphones. The Pixel 7 smartphones also offer fast wireless charging, fingerprint unlocking and 24+ hour battery life.
Google also introduced the Pixel Watch to compete with the Apple Watch alongside the Pixel 7 phones. The Pixel Watch starts at $350 and has a round display that is different from the Apple Watch's rectangular design. The Pixel Watch includes features from Fitbit, a Google-owned company, such as heart rate tracking, ECGs and sleep tracking, fall detection and Emergency SOS.
