How to Watch 2024 People's Choice Awards Online Free

The awards season continues this weekend with the People’s Choice Awards, which take place on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Santa Monica’s Barker Hanger.

This year’s two-hour telecast will kick off at 8 p.m. ET, and will air live on NBC and E!. However, cable-cutters can stream the entire awards show live online through Peacock, in addition to a variety of live TV streamers such as Sling TV and DirecTV Stream, which offer currently offer free trials.

Simu Liu, who previously won a People’s Choice Award in the action movie star category for his leading role in “Shang-Chi” will host this year’s ceremony. The actor is also nominated for a People’s Choice Award this year for his performance as one of the Kens in “Barbie.” Greta Gerwig’s summer blockbuster also received nods for “Movie of the Year” and “Comedy Movie of the Year.”

“The PCAs are unique,” Liu told Variety about his hosting gig, noting that fans vote for the PCAs online or by using their phones. “It’s not an awards show about an academy that votes behind closed doors. I think it’s important that we have that, but that’s not us. That’s not the PCAs — it’s inclusive by nature.”

Films also nominated for “Movie of the Year” include “Fast X,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,”“Oppenheimer,” “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Film,”“The Little Mermaid” and “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.”

Adam Sandler will also be honored at this year’s ceremony with the People’s Icon Award, celebrating the actor’s comedic career, with roles in iconic films such as “Grown Ups,” “Happy Gilmore” and “The Wedding Singer.”
