Designated hitter Brandon Valenzuela, the Padres’ №11 prospect, was 2-for-6 with a RBI and 2 runs scored Thursday night — raising hit batting average to .251 for Double-A San Antonio as he got at least one hit for the ninth time in the last 10 games.

Third baseman Marcos Castañon (.239), the Padres’ №13 prospect, was 3-for-4 with a double, his fourth home run, with 3 RBIs, 2 walks and a stolen base in the Missions’ 12–10 win at Amarillo.

Right-handed reliever (2–0, 7.24 earned run average), the Padres’ №15 prospect, allowed two hits with three strikeouts in two scoreless innings to earn the win for Triple-A El Paso Thursday night.

Corner outfielder Tirso Ornelas (.294), the Padres’ №25 prospect, hit a solo home run (his seventh on the season) in three at-bats with a walk for the Chihuahuas. Left fielder-third baseman Graham Pauley (.213), the Padres’ №6 prospect, had a double in four at-bats.
