Nurses Week 2020: Freebies and discounts for nurses

But it sure is nice to get free stuff for National Nurses Week. This year, the American Nurse Association-designated recognition week will begin with National Nurses Day on May 6 and conclude May 12, the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth. While that clock is ticking, nurses are eligible for all sorts of freebies and discounts.

Here are some of the best to check out:

Personal 

Cinnabon, no charge at most locations. As part of its support of the Daisy Foundation, Cinnabon does a National Nurses Week promotion at participating U.S. bakeries between May 6 and May 12, typically one free cinnamon roll per nurse.

Free Chipotle, possibly. As part of a new promotion, nurses and other health care workers will be able to sign up to possibly receive a free burrito from Chipotle Mexican Grill's "buy one, give one" program. 

Freebie donuts from Dunkin'. Not just nurses but all health care workers will receive a complimentary medium hot or iced coffee and doughnut at participating locations on May 6, no purchase necessary.

BP gas for less. Fill up the tank at 50 cents off per gallon with this one-time deal for nurses from BP. They'll issue you a code that's good for discounted gas on your next fill-up at BP and also Amoco. If you know a first responder, doctor or hospital worker, this deal applies to them, too.

A chance to win free Waterloo sparkling water. This isn't a freebie free and clear, but it doesn't cost anything for nurses to enter Waterloo Sparkling Water's giveaway. Comment on the company's Instagram or Facebook page to be entered to win one of 500 free 8- or 12-pack cases. The promo runs May 6 to May 12, and others can tag nurses to enter them.

Krispy Kreme dozen free on Monday, May 11. While the Krispy Kreme health care provider promotion that started at the end of March is winding down, there's still a Monday (May 11) left to collect a free dozen Original Glazed® Doughnuts as a health care worker. Do this at the drive-thru by showing your badge and driving off with a free dozen donuts for the fam or the work fam.

Fed and state taxes filed for free. First responders, nurses and other medical professionals can file both their federal and state returns without a fee using H&R Block’s Tax Pro Go. You'll need to provide evidence of a work badge or medical ID to get them to waive filing and preparation costs. The deal is good during National Nurses Week and throughout the month of May.

Certain print scrubs are as much as 50% off, and the online company also offers a free EKG bracelet with every order made during Nurses Week. Exclusions apply; the sale ends May 12.

Nurse-theme Kindle books for free on Amazon. If you're not tired of thinking about nursing, turn to some of Amazon's free Kindle books with nurse themes.
