The majority of Murder Mystery 2 was filmed on O’ahu, Hawaii, and in Paris, France. The movie starts off in Hawaii, where some scenes were shot at Lanikuhonua Lagoon, National World reports. The lagoon is part of the Lanikuhonua nature preserve on Ko Olina. The nature preserve features 11 acres of manicured grounds that are available to reserve for small events and large affairs. Ko Onlina itself encompasses a 642-acre stretch of land that includes luxury resorts and a string of lagoons connected by seaside pathways.
In Paris, the production tapped a few iconic locations. The Arc de Triomphe was selected as the location for where the detectives Nick and Audrey Sptiz (played by Sandler and Aniston) are asked to bring the ransom money in exchange for their friend. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Adam Sandler revealed a scene was actually filmed at the Eiffel Tower. “We shot at 2 in the morning, and Jennifer’s stunt girl, Kelly, she went out there and swung on a rope,” said the actor, who was recently awarded the 2023 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Other Paris locations that can be spotted in the movie include the restaurant Les Cailloux, which is in the background when the Spitzes see a man walk into a burning vehicle; the opera house Palais Garnier, also known as Opera Garnier; and the Love Lock Bridge, where the Spitzes go to renew their vows.

Beyond the City of Love, the movie features the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte located in Maincy, France. Built by the French architect Louis Le Vau, the mansion sits on nearly 500 hectares and comes complete with a gated entrance and moat. It was owned and envisioned by Nicolas Fouquet, a French finance minister in the early years of the reign of Louis XIV whose career ended when he was convicted of embezzlement. At the estate, visitors can tour the château, gardens, and carriage museum.
