McDonald’s Halloween buckets are back just in time for trick or treating

Trick-or-Treaters who have missed out on having the classic McDonald’s “Boo buckets” can now get their hands on one just in time for Halloween. McDonald’s has brought back the iconic white McBoo, orange McPunk’n and green McGoblin Halloween buckets after a six-year-hiatus from releasing the special pails.
People seeking out the buckets can find them starting today (Oct. 18) at McDonald’s locations across the country until Oct. 31, while supplies last. All you need to do to secure one is order a Happy Meal from participating locations and your meal will be delivered in the plastic pail which can then be used on Halloween.
“We heard you loud and clear… if spooky SZN doesn’t include McDonald’s Halloween Pails, then you don’t want it,” McDonald’s said in a press release.
The pails were first introduced in 1986 and were available yearly until the company discontinued them in 2016. Now that they’re back, McDonald’s is also encouraging customers to share the unique way they plan to repurpose the buckets when they aren’t being used to hoard candy.
The return of the buckets comes just a couple weeks after McDonald’s launched Adult Happy Meals aimed at satisfying older customers who still want the thrill of hunting down toys that come with the meals.
