Masters first round tee times delayed due to weather

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The first round of the Masters has been delayed due to the weather on Thursday.

Masters officials say they will continue to monitor the weather closely.

Gate openings and tee times have been delayed until further notice.

The first round will not begin before 9 a.m.

The weather was on the minds of a lot of players.

Throughout the week, we’ve heard players speak highly about the course conditions, with some even saying it’s the best they’ve seen in years.

But the course conditions are likely to change overnight due to the expected impact of the wind and heavy rain coming our way.

The players will have to adjust on the fly if they want to post low scores in the first round.
