Just one week after making their relationship Instagram official, Kat Dennings and Andrew W.K. revealed that they're now engaged.
On Thursday, the actress posted three photos showing off her new engagement ring with the caption, “Don't mind if I do.” In the images, which the rock star also shared to his own account, the pair can be seen holding hands, kissing, and generally reveling in the happy news. W.K. also posted a montage of glamorous red carpet footage of his now-fiancée on his Instagram Stories, as well as a gif of himself pumping his fists in celebration.
Four days prior to this announcement, Dennings wished her fiancé a happy birthday by sharing a photo of the two of them kissing, and last week, they confirmed their relationship with a photo of W.K. kissing the actress gently on the forehead as she pouts her lips at the camera. Dennings previously dated Josh Groban after they were introduced by her 2 Broke Girls co-star Beth Behrs. But in 2016, after two years together, the couple decided to end their relationship. W.K. married fellow musician Cherie Lily in 2008 and, according to a press release, the pair “began amicable divorce proceedings in late 2019.”
The relationship between Dennings and the “god of partying" might seem like it's moving along at a brisk pace, but this love connection actually appears to have been years in the making. Back in 2014, the actress made her interest in W.K. transparent, replying to a photo he tweeted of himself, “You are a tall drink of milk AWK.” And at the beginning of April, she dropped a clue for her fans about her new boyfriend, tweeting out a screenshot of W.K. pretending to be a Fox News weather man walking past a map of the midwest that just says “PARTY” over and over again. She wrote alongside the image, “me on my vaccinated walks,” to which the rocker replied with a red heart emoji. And while Dennings previously declared that “White pants are dumb,” even she has to admit that her fiancé's signature all-white stage costume is pretty much tailor made for a trip down the aisle.
