PORTAGE, Mich. — Republican nominee for Vice President, Sen. JD Vance (Ohio) rallied in Portage Friday afternoon.
During his address, he went after Vice President Kamala Harris, saying Americans are not better off after nearly four years of the Biden-Harris Administration being in charge.
“She [Harris] says on day one she’s going to get serious about border security," Vance said. "Any of us all of us with a lick common sense are saying ‘Kamala, day one was 1,400 days ago. What the hell have you been doing the whole time? Stop talking about doing your job and go and do it.'"
Vance touched on many of Trump-Vance campaign's focuses, including border security and the economy.
The Republican Vice Presidential nominee also addressed controversial comments made by President Joe Biden, where he called Trump supporters "garbage."
Biden later walked back those comments, saying he was just referring to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who called Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage" during a rally at Madison Square Garden.
“These are people who hate their fellow citizens and I think if this movement of ours is animated by anything it’s that we love our fellow citizens," Vance said. "We want them to have prosperity again and that’s why we’re going to make Donald J. Trump the next President of the United States.”
Vance's visit comes as former president Donald Trump rallies in Warren, and while Democratic nominee for Vice President Tim Walz visits Flint.
Early voting in Michigan runs until Sunday, and Election Day is Tuesday.
