She suggested practising every day for the next six years, according to Louisville Magazine. As it turns out, it looks like her advice was worthwhile as Jack is now collaborating with huge names in the industry.

In the same interview with Louisville Magazine in 2017, Jack said: “Writing rap is just expressing myself through language”.

Who are his parents?

Jack was born to Maggie (Payette) and Brian Harlow. His mother was a fan of rap music and often played Eminem songs when he was a baby.

Speaking to Billboard in 2018, Jack said that while his mother introduced him to rap music, his father influenced him with country songs: “Hip-hop energized me and gave me confidence when I listened to it and it’s what my mom liked, so it was dope getting both worlds”.

Speaking of her son’s success to Signs Of The Times, Jack’s mother said: “We literally helped him craft that plan for how many hours a day he would have to [practice] in order to be the best rapper in the world.”.

In terms of Jack’s heritage, he said in 2020 that he’s a mixture of Irish and French: “I’m a traditional Anglo-Saxon, I’m a mixture of Anglo and Saxon.”
