WEATHER UPDATE

The Orange County Office of Emergency Management continues monitoring Hurricane Ian's changing track and its impact on Orange County. At 11:01 this morning, Orange County is under Tropical Storm Watch. This week is expected to bring heavy rainfall and wind gusts of 39-73 mph. Visit the National Weather Services for more information.

Orange County Public Works has been working with the community to reduce flooding potential by lowering water levels in lakes and other water bodies to prepare for storms.

Residents are asked to ensure that their homes are ready for Tuesday evening and that any items left outside are removed from their homes. Residents should also have emergency supplies and a plan for their pets and family. Visit ocfl.net/storm for more information or ready.gov for more information.

Community Preparedness

Residents who need a Special Needs/Medical shelter are asked to call Orange County at 3-1-1 or 407-836-3111. This will ensure that they have access to the resources and transportation needed before a storm hits.

Individuals who are hard of hearing or deaf can chat online at ocfl.net/311.

SANDBAGS AVAILABLE

Orange County has reopened its free, self service sandbag program at five Parks and Recreation sites throughout the county to ensure residents are prepared for any storms.

Sites will be open during normal park hours. Individuals are reminded that they must bring their own shovels in order to fill the sandbags. For more information, visit ocfl.net/storm.
