Coachella live stream missing headliner Frank Ocean
For many music fans, the Coachella live stream is even better than being there. Instead of battling through a crowd of 125,000, choosing the comfort of a couch is a reasonable decision.
Unfortunately, those who opted for streaming will miss the weekend’s most anticipated performance. Frank Ocean, who has not performed live since 2017, will headline Coachella’s main stage Sunday night at 10:05 p.m., but his show will not be aired on Coachella’s YouTube channel. It's unsure whether his performance next weekend will be live-streamed.
Bjork's concert Sunday night will not be shown either. By comparison, the previous nights’ headliners, Bad Bunny and BLACKPINK, were both available to stream.
It fits with Ocean’s notoriously enigmatic persona. Fans who hoped to pick up a copy of his rare 2016 album “Blonde” were surprised to learn there was only one copy for sale. And there wasn’t any other Frank Ocean merch for sale at the festival at all, although several fans could be spotted with rare T-shirts adorned with Ocean’s lyrics.
Rumors have circulated online about the debut of a new song, and fans can only hope that his Coachella appearance will be timed with the release of a long-anticipated follow-up to “Blonde.” However fans of Ocean know that he’s an artist operating on a timeline all of his own, and it’s one that’s impossible to predict.
