Where you can see 4th of July fireworks in El Paso — some for free

t's America's birthday and time to put on your best red, white and blue outfits to celebrate. If you spent all your money buying patriotic clothes, fireworks or getting the barbecue ready, don't worry. You still can see some fireworks displays for free.
Here are all the places to see professional fireworks displays in the El Paso area:
El Paso Chihuahuas
Enjoy a rousing baseball game, your favorite ballpark snacks and a spectacular fireworks display Tuesday at the El Paso Chihuahuas vs. Albuquerque Isotopes game. Game starts at 7:05 p.m., fireworks choreographed to music will be after the game.
Players will wear their stars and stripes uniforms.
Music Under the Stars
Las Cruces-based country singer Frank Ray will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cohen Stadium. A fireworks show will follow Ray's performance. Free. Overflow parking with shuttle service is available at the El Paso Community College Transmountain Campus. Free.

Ascarate Park
The South-Central El Paso park will have extended day hours for the holiday, opening from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The day's activities will include food trucks, live music and a fireworks display around 9:30 p.m.
Parking at Ascarate will be $5 per vehicle; no charge for those who walk in.

Pop Goes the Fort at Fort Bliss
Fort Bliss will have an Independence Day celebration featuring the El Paso Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday at Biggs Park, 11388 Sergeant Major Blvd.
Gates will open at 4 p.m. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. The evening will feature patriotic music and end with fireworks. Free.

Western Playland
The amusement park will be open from 3 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at 1249 Futurity Drive in Sunland Park. Pay One Price Bracelet: $21.21 Admission, no rides: $5.

Abundant Living Faith Center
The mega church on the East Side, at 1000 Valley Crest Drive, will have its praise and worship, a water park for kids, food and games, food trucks and fireworks, from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday. Free.
