It Wasn't The Only Time Ellen Cried On Her Talk ShowEllen DeGeneres had several emotional moments on her talk show throughout the years. Airing 3,294 episodes during 19 seasons, fans saw a bit of everything on her talk show over its nearly two decade long run. Given the length and bond Ellen created with her staff, she got very emotional during the final episode.
Ellen said about her team, "You surrounded me with so much love and so much support. You nurtured me and you found a way to make me shine brighter than I could do it by myself. You helped me be my best. I love you more than I can possibly say."
The host continued, "To all of you who have watched me and supported me, thank you so much for this platform," she said. "And I hope that what I've been able to do in the last 19 years has made you happy, and that I was able to take a little bit of pain away from a bad day or anything you're going through."

Turning the clock back to 2007, Ellen broke down on her show for a completely different reason.
Ellen DeGeneres Was In Tears Over A Dog Adoption Situation, And Told The Fans Some Of Her Rant Would Be CutEllen had adopted several animals, however there was one pet in particular she could not take care of, Iggy. Ellen figured the best situation would be the hand the dog over to another family who could show the dog unconditional love. However, Ellen quickly learned that this wasn't the way to go, given that she had signed a paper to give the dog back in the event that she could not take care of it.
“I guess I signed a piece of paper that says if I can’t keep Iggy, it goes back to the rescue organization, which is not someone’s home, which is not a family,” she said.
“I thought I did a good thing. I tried to find a loving home for the dog because I couldn’t keep it.”
The situation ended in total heartbreak, with the organization taking back the dog from the family.
“Because I did it wrong, those people went and took that dog out of their home, and took it away from those kids,” says DeGeneres, crying.
“I feel totally responsible for it and I’m so sorry. I’m begging them to give that dog back to that family,” she says. “It’s not their fault. It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have given the dog away. Just please give the dog back to those little girls.”

Although fans had Ellen's back over the emotional reveal, the owner of the organization told a different side of the story.
The Owner Of Mutts And Moms Refused To Give The Dog Back Because Of How She Was Treated By Ellen's TeamThe story took a different twist in 2009 when the owner of Mutts and Moms Marina Batkis issued a statement on the matter. Marina was very stern in her statement, revealing that Ellen should not be the one to decide where a dog goes.
"If Ellen wants to start her own rescue group then she can decide where the dogs go," Batkis said. "Who is she to say who is a good home and whose not? And who is she to say where I should place my animals and how I should do this? I don't tell her how to run her show."

Batkis' lawyer also played a voice mail to the public showing what appeared to be a threat from Ellen's team if the dog wasn't given back.
"We're filing a legal case against you. We're going to be contacting the media. This is not going to be good for your store or your organization."
At the time, Batkis revealed that she had no intent of giving the dog back. Ellen would make another comment, stating that the situation was going too far as to what actually matters.
"This has become so insane. It's not even, it's just just the dog just needs to go to the family. It's like the fight should … not be about anything," she said. "It just needs to be in a good home. That's all you're supposed to do is put a dog in a loving home."
