Tuesday is Election Day, and everyone's bussing about casting their vote. While it might not be a federal holiday, many wonder about all those errands that might need to be run or whether schools are open or not.
Will schools be open on Election day?
Along with many other school districts in Georgia, there will be no school for students in Athens-Clarke County public schools on Tuesday, Nov. 5, which will be a Teacher Planning Day.
Another thing to keep in mind on Election Day is that many school and community centers may serve as polling spots. It's best to check your school district's calendar for clarification.
Will banks, post offices, UPS, and FedEx be open on Election Day?
On Nov. 5, Bank of America, Truist, PNC, Capital One, Wells Fargo, and others will be open during regular hours. There will also be normal operations for online banks and ATM's.
Because Election day is not a federal holiday, post offices, UPS, and FedEx will be open and mail will be delivered as normal.
