Sports Seriously
LOS ANGELES − It's hard enough to win on the road in the NFL, but what the Eagles have done in their previous three road games is practically unheard of.
That's because the Eagles have won all three of those road games by 20 or more points. For the Eagles, it's the third time that has happened in franchise history. The other two times came in 1948 and 1949.
The New England Patriots were the last NFL team to do it, back in 2017.
As a whole, the Eagles are 22-9 on the road for a .710 winning percentage since Nick Sirianni became the head coach in 2021. The Kansas City Chiefs, at 22-8 for a .733 winning percentage, are the only NFL team with a better road record during that time.
"I think the biggest thing ... is just having that mental toughness that everyone is going to be against you on the road," Sirianni said. "Now, we travel pretty well, and I've been really appreciative of the Eagles fans that show up no matter where we are.
"But you still feel like the stadium is against you."
There's a chance SoFi Stadium will resemble Lincoln Financial Field West on Sunday. Eagles fans outnumbered Rams fans when they played here last October.
WR DeVonta Smith is out with a hamstring injury, and WR Britain Covey, activated off injured reserve on Saturday, is taking his spot on the game-day roster. Covey serves primarily as the punt returner. Cooper DeJean, who's the starting nickel, has served as the punt returner in Covey's absence.
Covey should get some chances at receiver, too, but he's not Smith, who has 516 yards receiving, second only to AJ Brown.
The Eagles' other inactives are QB Tanner McKee, CB Eli Ricks, OL Nick Gates, OL Darian Kinnard, G Trevor Keegan.

Eagles vs Rams prediction
Once again, the difference will come on defense, where the Rams are in the bottom half of the league rankings across the board. That means a heavy dose of Saquon Barkley and more chances for A.J. Brown − and, most importantly, not enough chances for Stafford and Co.
The pick: Eagles 34, Rams 23

It'll be on the cooler side in Los Angeles under partly cloudy skies with temperature at about 57 degrees at game time. There is a roof atop SoFi Stadium, but the sides are open air, so the temperature outside should closely resemble the temperature in the stadium.
