Sia reveals she 'just adopted a son,' says she doesn't 'have time for a relationship'

Sia is officially a mom!

The "Chandelier" singer, 44, revealed to GQ that she adopted a child.

Discussing cover star Diplo, she told the magazine she texted the DJ this year to say, "I've decided to be single for the rest of my life, and I just adopted a son. I don't have time for a relationship."

USA TODAY was unable to reach Sia for further details.

Fans of the singer may not be surprised by the news, since she has previously talked about becoming a mom. 

In May 2019, she took to Twitter to share her desire about adopting a child featured on a documentary. 

"Hey dasani from 'FOSTER' on @HBO! I'd like to adopt you we're just trying to find you and get my house check done etc. but I want you to know you will have a home with me," she wrote in a since-deleted tweet.

She retweeted a reaction to her tweet.

"This is beautiful, being adopted changed my life. No matter how young or old, we need family to carry us, laugh with us & love us. You learn to never take family for granted," user @LilyInPink82 tweeted. "Bless you @sia I hope you manage to connect with Dasani's caseworkers & work everything out."

Sia spoke about her desire to have a child while she was in a relationship with musician JD Samson. They broke up in 2011.

"Having a kid this year and my girlfriend JD are No.1," she told the Sydney Morning Herald in 2010. "And then dogs in general, in the world are No. 2. And music is third – but only writing because performing is like five and everything else that goes with this job is like nine thousand, billion and fifty."

Sia was married to filmmaker Erik Anders Lang in 2014. They separated in 2016.
