LIMESTONE, Maine (WABI) - Pi Day is a big day for the Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone.
Students tried to recite as many digits of the mathematical constant as they could, but one stood above the rest.
For the second year in a row, sophomore Ari Anghel of Windham was the big winner, rattling off 919 digits of Pi, doubling their number from last year!
Community members were encouraged to pledge donations for each digit, benefiting the MSSM Foundation.
They raised about $4,000 this year.
Ari won a fitting prize for this demonstration - an actual pie!
