Deshaun Watson wants to play for the Broncos, according to an ex-teammate

Deshaun Watson wants to play for the Broncos, according to safety Kareem Jackson.

The Denver Broncos were heavily linked to Deshaun Watson earlier this offseason before the quarterback was accused of sexual assault by 22 women. That put any potential trade market for Watson on hold.

Watson is facing a lawsuit and he won’t be deposed until after Super Bowl LVI, so it seems unlikely that any team would trade for him before the 2021 season (barring settlements).

If the quarterback is cleared and returns to the NFL, he has a preferred destination: Denver.

“I’ve got a great relationship with Deshaun. I’ve been talking to him the last couple weeks, man, and all he’s been telling me is like, ‘Look, Jack, just tell them that’s where I want to be,” Broncos safety Kareem Jackson said during a recent interview with ex-NFL cornerback Aqib Talib on Catchin’ Fades.

Jackson and Watson were teammates with the Texans for two seasons.

Talib believes a trade will eventually happen.

“I honestly think ya’ll are going to have Deshaun soon,” he said.

Denver seems extremely unlikely to pursue a potential trade for Watson while the quarterback’s legal situation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, fellow quarterback Aaron Rodgers is skipping his team’s mandatory minicamp, a sign that his desire to leave the Green Bay Packers is serious. The Broncos are expected to have interest in Rodgers if he eventually hits the trade block.
