It was featured in Dangerous Minds, starring Michelle Pfeiffer. The track reached #1, where it remained for three weeks.
As reported by TMZ, Coolio was visiting a friend in L.A. earlier this afternoon when he went to use the bathroom and never emerged. The friend became concerned and went to check on Coolio, finding him lying on the ground. The emergency crew arrived and declared him dead on the spot.
Paramedics believe he suffered a fatal heart attack, although no official cause has been given.
