What time is ‘Coming 2 America’ on Amazon? Eddie Murphy returns in sequel.

We’ve waited more than 32 years for the next chapter in Prince Akeem’s story.

Sprinkle some rose petals on the floor, because we’re ready to welcome Zamunda royalty back to America.

Eddie Murphy’s prince returns Friday with “Coming 2 America,” the sequel to the hit 1988 comedy “Coming to America.”

Here are some details about what to expect and when and where to tune in.

In the 1988 film, Prince Akeem Joffer (Eddie Murphy) of Zamunda goes looking for an American bride and finds one in Lisa McDowell (Shari Headley) of Queens.

In “Coming 2 America,” written by Kenya Barris, David Sheffield and Barry Blaustein, Akeem, happily married to Lisa (now Lisa Joffer) and living in Zamunda, discovers that he fathered a son during an encounter with Mary Junson (Leslie Jones) in New York back in the 1980s.

Akeem returns to Queens to meet this son, Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler), who will be the rightful heir to the throne in Zamunda after Akeem becomes king.

Much of the original 1988 cast is back in action in “Coming 2 America,” directed by Craig Brewer (“Dolemite Is My Name”).

In addition to Murphy as Akeem and Headley as Lisa, here are some other familiar faces:

• Arsenio Hall returns as Semmi, Akeem’s righthand man.
• James Earl Jones is back as an ailing King Jaffe Joffer, Akeem’s father.
• East Orange’s John Amos again plays Lisa’s father Cleo McDowell, owner of McDowell’s, a fast food chain that bears a striking resemblance to McDonald’s.
• Louie Anderson returns as McDowell’s employee Maurice.
• Murphy and Hall reprise the roles of barber shop fixtures Clarence, Morris and Saul.

• Paul Bates, who played Oha, the royal bodyguard who delivered an iconic performance of “She’s Your Queen to Be” in the original film.
• Vanessa Bell Calloway as Princess Imani Izzi. In the first movie, Izzi was supposed to be Akeem’s bride via arranged marriage, but he rejected her after making her bark like a dog to prove she only wanted to please him and was not free to be her own person.
• Garcelle Beauvais, who played a royal rose bearer in Zamunda, is also back.

Besides Leslie Jones and Jermaine Fowler, new cast members include:

• Kiki Layne as Akeem and Lisa’s daughter Meeka Joffer.
• Eddie Murphy’s daughter Bella Murphy as Akeem and Lisa’s daughter Princess Omma.
• Wesley Snipes as Gen. Izzi, brother of Princess Izzi, the one spurned by Akeem.
• Alpine’s Tracy Morgan as Reem Junson, uncle to Lavelle, Akeem’s recently discovered son.
• Teyana Taylor and Rick Ross are also in the movie.

Paramount Pictures was supposed to release the sequel Dec. 18. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the studio sold the film to Amazon Studios for a reported $125 million.

“Coming 2 America,” which has a runtime of one hour and 48 minutes, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video at 12 a.m. ET Friday, March 5.

The film is included with a Prime Video or Amazon Prime subscription; Prime Video has a 30-day free trial.
