Thank You Buccaneers Media Legends Bucs Report

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers season ended abruptly yesterday with a doink. That game winning FG kick by Washington was a gut punch to Bucs fans everywhere. Sitting in the stands watching the Buccaneers play a meaningful game in January, still was a thrilling experience.
What happened 2.5 hours before kick off was just as exciting. I’ve been following Bucs football since 1979. Living in Canada and trying to find Buc information was nearly impossible. Thankfully when the internet first started, it became much easier.
The internet gave me access to many Tampa radio stations and newspapers. I was able to read and listen to iconic Tampa personalities like Chris Thomas, Steve Duemig, Scott Reynolds, Rick Stroud and Jay Recher. I know there are many I’m forgetting but you get it.
I even subscribed to Pewter Report magazine and had the newspaper edition shipped to Canada. So yeah, my Buc Fandom showed no boundaries.
I’ve been fortunate enough to say hello to many of these men but yesterday was the icing on the cake, or should I say beet salad.
Ira Kaufman and Rock Riley have been two guys I’ve admired for years. You simply cannot talk about the history of Tampa Sports reporters without mentioning them. Yesterday a dream came true. I met them along with Jay Recher and even said hello to Greg Auman. Tony Dungy walked right by me as we were all chatting so it was a surreal moment.
It was a day I’ll never forget and I’m thankful that we were able to make it happen. Their professionism and generosity won’t be forgotten. So, despite the final score, today I’m smiling.
Thank you everyone.
