Brittany Aldean claims she got 'so much support' after transphobic post

Jason Aldean’s wife claimed she has received “so much support” from the country music community after facing backlash for a transphobic Instagram post.

“So much support, so much support,” Brittany Aldean said Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Thursday when asked about the reaction in Nashville. “Especially people that have children.”

Brittany did, however, admit that she has also gotten some not-so-positive comments from “the other side.”

“People are entitled to their opinions, but that’s just it — we as conservatives have a very hard time having an opinion, especially in society today,” she continued. “It’s very, very sad, but [I’ve had] a lot of support within Nashville and just friends and family, for sure.”

The controversy began when Brittany shared a Reel to her 2.3 million Instagram followers on Aug. 23 in which she she thanked her parents for “not changing” her gender during her “tomboy phase.”

“I’m advocating for children,” she explained during Thursday’s interview. “I think that children should not be allowed to make these life-changing decisions at such a young age. They are not mature enough.”

The mom of two defended her stance by comparing it to laws requiring people to be a certain age to buy cigarettes and join the military.

“I think when you’re older, if you choose to make these decisions, by all means, but children are too young [and] not mature enough to make those decisions,” she said. “They’re life-changing. … There’s so many consequences in doing that at such a young age.

“And us parents and us as a society, regardless of political status, should be able to sit back speak our minds about it and fight for these children,” Brittany concluded.

As a result of the public backlash Brittany has faced, Jason’s PR firm of 17 years, The GreenRoom, dropped the 45-year-old as a client this week.

“We aren’t the best people for the gig anymore, but will always be big fans of his music — he is one of the greatest live entertainers in country music,” co-owner Tyne Parrish told Billboard Thursday.

Jason was dropped from his PR firm after 17 years together.

Brittany’s Instagram post caused an uproar in the country music world, where her husband’s counterparts Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris spoke out against her views, with the latter dubbing Brittany “Insurrection Barbie.”

“I’ve never had a conversation with either of these people,” Brittany claimed Thursday of Pope and Morris.

The Aldeans married in 2015 after Jason admitted to cheating on his first wife, Jessica Ann Ussery, with Brittany.
