What are AP scores and why are they important?

AP scores are the results of Advanced Placement exams, which are standardized tests administered by the College Board.

These advanced exams are intended to assess high school students’ mastery of college-level course material in various subject under the umbrellas of arts, English, history and social science, math and computer science, sciences and world languages and cultures.

Who uses AP Scores?

AP scores for high school students aren't only valuable for the sense of accomplishment gleaned from such difficult course work - these credits can also often be used as college credit, or to gain advanced placement in college classes. College schedules can often be made more flexible through existing AP credits, to add to the benefits.

College admissions officers use AP scores to gauge a student’s readiness for college-level work, as well as awarding applicable credit or advanced placement. This can help students graduate sooner and reduce college costs.
