NBA Star Anthony Edwards Gets Real About Eating Healthy in New ...
Chipotle's newest "for Real" campaign features two-time back-to-back NBA All-Star Anthony Edwards and how he got real about his diet and training.
Marking the first appearance by a pro basketball player in a national Chipotle TV commercial, the campaign continues the existing partnership between the Mexican fast-casual chain and Edwards.
According to Chipotle Chief Brand Officer Christ Brandt, Edwards is a perfect example of the positive effects real food can have on an athlete's health and overall performance.
The basketball star previously appeared in Chipotle's "Unwrapped" series, as well as with other star athletes under the brand's "Team Chipotle" special menu promotion, even having an item named after him.
Edwards, who was called out by his teammates in 2022 for bad eating habits, is known for his love of fast food. The promising young athlete has since changed his diet with some help from Chipotle.
As part of the campaign, Chipotle is bringing back The Anthony Edwards Bowl as a limited-time item on the Chipotle app and website, giving fans a taste of his go-to meal.
The delicious and healthy offering contains:
- Chicken (half portion)
- Steak (half portion)
- Brown rice
- Fresh tomato salsa
- Lettuce
- Roasted chili-corn salsa

The partnership aims to support athletes on all levels by providing nutritional food made with fresh ingredients in line with the brand's "Real Food for Real Athletes" platform.
This latest TV commercial reinforces Chipotle's long-standing brand values, promoting nutritious dishes made with real ingredients.
By endorsing pro athletes, Chipotle associates eating a healthy diet with physical excellence.
A Different Game
The simple, no-frills spot, titled "The Difference Is Real," begins with Edwards entering a basketball gym with a bag of Chipotle take-out.
Sharing his many achievements, the shooting guard shares a bit about "getting real" to achieve his goals, which involved putting in hard work both on the court and with his diet.
Shot after shot of him making baskets is showcased in a stylish montage as he demonstrates how healthy living builds the best athletes.
Calling back to Chipotle's "for Real" tagline, he ends the spot by highlighting the real difference he feels about this upcoming season.
Back in April, the Edwards starred in a slightly less healthy ad for Sprite, helming the brand's relaunched "Obey Your Thirst" campaign.
That same month, Chipotle joined the battle in an official collaboration with Tekken 8, launching a points program and limited menu items.
