Wheeling dealing Guardians trade Andres Gimenez save some
The Guardians freed themselves of an estimated $100 million by trading Andres Gimenez and Nick Sandlin.

DALLAS — The Guardians made the biggest trade of the winter meetings on Tuesday night. They followed it with another trade a few hours later.

The net result was one starting pitcher, three prospects, the dumping of almost $100 million in salary and a wide open competition at second base at least until Travis Bazzana, the No.1 overall pick in the 2024, is ready.
