Getty ImagesAlongside Google's Nest devices, Apple’s AirPods and smart home tech, the Apple Watch will be popular this Black Friday. We’ve already seen retailers battling it out over discounts for the smartwatch, but where are the best deals?
Apple has a four day sale event (it doesn’t call it a Black Friday event) starting on Friday, which will reveal how heavily it has discounted its own tech. Typically, buying directly from the manufacturer nets the best deals, but big retailers like Walmart and Target are offering big gift card deals with smartphone purchases - so buyers have good options. Here are some of the best deals for Apple Watches available right now.
Gift Cards
If you’re buying a smartphone from Walmart or Target, you can pick up between $200 and $450 in gift cards, plus an additional $250 gift card from Walmart if you trade in your old phone. Deals are for the recent devices from the big manufacturers including the iPhone 11, Samsung Note 10 and Google’s Pixel 4. If you do pick up one of these smartphone deals then you could feasibly get an Apple Watch for free by using one of those gift cards.
In terms of prices, you’ll find the Apple Watch series 3 GPS - 38mm $30 off at Walmart, whilst the Apple Watch Series 5 GPS - 44mm is $20 off too.
Over at Target, there’s a huge $80 off the Apple Watch Series 4 GPS + Cellular - 44mm. There’s also $30 off the Series 3 watch with and without cellular functionality.
Best Buy probably has the widest range of discounts, which go from small to big. You’ll find discounts from $10 to $50 to $300 (for top models) for Series 4 Apple Watches watches of all variants. Similarly for Series 3 watches, discounts range from $10 to $33 for all functionality variants.
Costco has $30 off the Apple Watch Series 5 GPS - 40mm, whilst Amazon has $20 off the Series 5 watch with GPS - 44mm. Amazon’s deals change daily, so keep an eye on the site, but discounts do vary - right now, for example, there’s a small $16 off the Apple Watch Series 3 42-mm (GPS + cellular).
