Firefighters battle blaze at Dolphins star Tyreek Hills home in
Firefighters battled a massive fire at the South Florida home of Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters battled a massive fire at the South Florida home of Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire broke out shortly before 2 p.m. at the home in the 16000 block of Berkshire Court in a gated community in Southwest Ranches.

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed heavy smoke coming from the mansion as crews poured water onto it and firefighters cut holes into sections of the roof.

Crews were working to put out a fire at Tyreek Hill's home in Southwest Ranches Wednesday.

A large amount of firefighters and police from multiple nearby agencies responded to the scene including Davie Fire Rescue and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.

Davie Fire Rescue's Bob Taylor said the fire was limited to the attic and roof but said there was smoke damage in much of the house. It was too early to determine the cause of the fire, Taylor said.

Taylor said there were no injuries reported.

Hill, the Dolphins' star wide receiver, was at practice with the team Wednesday and not at the home when it broke out.

A Dolphins spokesperson said Hill had left practice and said everyone who was in the home at the time was safe.

Footage showed Hill, wearing a white T-shirt, dark sweatpants and a boot on his left foot, arriving back at the home and hugging family members.

Tyreek Hill arrives to his Southwest Ranches mansion after a fire broke out on Jan. 3, 2024.

The fire appeared to be extinguished by around 3 p.m., though a large hole could be seen on one portion of the roof.

Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said it was unknown whether the family could stay in the home Wednesday night but said Hill was thankful no one was injured.

"It's very difficult for anyone to have their home catch on fire, but Tyreek and his family are handling it with much poise as you can hope, he was grateful to the firefighters who saved his home," Rosenhaus said.

Property records showed Hill purchased the mansion in 2022 for $6.9 million.

The 9,300-square-foot home features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a home theater, a full-size basketball court, a massive pool and two guest houses.

Hill, 29, was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Dolphins in 2022 and signed a four-year contract extension worth a reported $120 million.

A Dolphins injury report released Wednesday ahead of the team's Sunday night matchup against the Buffalo Bills lists Hill with an ankle injury.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa told reporters he learned of the fire after practice and after Hill had left to go home.

"The main thing is his family is safe, his loved ones are good, he's good as well," Tagovailoa said. "I'm just glad that a lot of his family members are safe…We're thinking of them, hoping that everyone is good."
