Tyler Higbee was limited to only 12 snaps in the Los Angeles Rams’ win over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night before suffering a chest injury that knocked him out of the game. The injury required Higbee to be hospitalized and on Tuesday morning, Sean McVay provided an update on the health of the Rams tight end.
McVay told reporters that Higbee was taken to the hospital because he was “spitting up a little bit of blood,” but he’s recovering well. He was discharged and traveled home with the team Monday night, he expects to play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon.

Higbee was having a great game before getting injured, catching five passes for 58 yards in the first quarter alone. He finished tied for the team lead in receptions and led all Rams players with 58 receiving yards despite only running 10 routes in the win.
He’s already become a big part of the offense since returning from multiple offseason surgeries in Week 16 and as long as he’s healthy, he’ll be the top tight end once again on Sunday in Philadelphia.
