Why Did Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury Break Up?

Just when you thought you couldn’t endure anymore heartbreak at the hands of celebrities, a fairy-tale pairing from Love Island: UK has called it quits. According to “Page Six,” season-five contestants Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury blindsided fans on Wednesday with matching breakup announcements on their Instagram stories. The couple, who were fan favorites on the British version of the reality series back in 2019 and one of the few contestants to make it in the real world, both shared their shock about the split, with Hague noting that “never in a million years” did she see herself having to announce a breakup on Instagram. The couple shares a 1-year-old daughter, Bambi, and have been engaged since July of last year.

“After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way,” Hague wrote. “I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end.”

“I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter,” she added. “Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority.”

Fury, a professional boxer and brother of former world-heavyweight-boxing champion Tyson Fury, similarly expressed how “heartbroken” he was and reiterated that Bambi is their “priority.” Fans, however, immediately began speculating that cheating had been involved, pointing out that Hague wasn’t wearing her six-carat engagement ring in her last two Instagram posts. The 25-year-old had also just reshared footage of Fury’s proposal three weeks ago, on the occasion of the first anniversary of their engagement. In the meantime, Hague has asked for privacy while she picks up the pieces of her relationship, but promised she’d “be back when it feels right.”
