New Year's Eve Safety Reminder

As we welcome the new year, the Shippensburg Police Department would like to remind everyone to celebrate safely and responsibly. Whether you're attending a party, hosting your own gathering, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, please keep the following safety tips in mind:

• Designate a sober driver or plan for a safe ride home if you plan to consume alcohol.
• Avoid excessive drinking and never drink and drive.
• Be aware of your surroundings and keep an eye on your belongings, especially in crowded areas.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations, and be cautious of pedestrians and other vehicles.
• Keep emergency numbers handy, including the Shippensburg Police Department's non-emergency number (717-532-7551) and 911 for emergencies.
