DDG Announces Split From Halle Bailey, The Net Thinks He's Trolling

DDG has informed his followers that he and Halle Bailey have decided to break up. Although Bailey has not announced the same news, fans’ thoughts about the breakup began pouring in, with some skeptical and others applauding the split.

The “Moonwalking In Calabasas” rapper took to his Instagram Story on Thursday (Oct. 3) with the PSA: “After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared.”

He continued: “Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we’ve build and the beautiful moments we’ve shared.” The 26-year-old requested that fans offer “understanding and support” as they “navigate this transition.”

He concluded, “Thank you for your love and encouragement.”

DDG, who has been known for playing pranks on the ‘net, has been suspected to be joking about breaking up with Halle, as the two just welcomed a son, Halo, in 2023.

One person took to X to predict DDG coming out later admitting it’s a joke.

“*one week later* ddg on youtube: wassup gang, y’all seen our breakup prank? first one to comment, i’ll send them some shoes. halle randomly on twitter: [smirk and hearts emoji],” they wrote. Another person commented, “tl celebrating ddg and halle break up but what are you all gonna do when he announces it was a publicity stunt tomorrow???”

Although the pair were suspected of breaking up in April, they were recently spotted at Usher’s Past Present Future Tour concert in Los Angeles. At the show, the R&B crooner attempted to feed The Little Mermaid star cherries, to which DDG took them from him to finish the steamy gesture.

DDG reposted the clip to his account with the caption, “Usher tried to give Halle a cherry in front of me.” He added three laughing emojis.
