First Official Look At The Five Nights At Freddy's Movie Revealed

First Official Look At The Five Nights At Freddys Movie Revealed
We also finally have a release date.

Blumhouse has released the first official look at the Five Nights at Freddy's movie, giving us a proper look at Freddy Fazbear and confirming that the film will release on October 27, 2023.

We've been hearing about the Five Nights at Freddy's movie for a really long time now - since 2015, in fact. After having swapped directors multiple times and seemingly being in development hell (reportedly no thanks to series creator and anti-LGBTQ supporter Scott Cawthon's heavy involvement), it looks like things are finally coming together, as Blumhouse has confirmed that the long-awaited FNAF movie is coming later this year.

The October 27 release date was revealed on Blumhouse's official Instagram page, alongside the first official image of the film. The image shows Freddy Fazbear and a young boy standing outside while looking up at a sign of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza (weirdly not named Pizzeria like it is in the games) that's clearly seen better days.

The image here actually looks very similar to the leaked set photo that we got just a few weeks back, which showed cast members standing outside with a Freddy Fazbear animatronic, presumably looking up at the same decaying sign that we see in this image. In fact, if you look closely at the cast members that are next to Freddy, there's one who even seems to be wearing the same clothes as the boy we see here.

Alongside giving us our first official look at the film, the Instagram post also gives us a synopsis of the movie. It reads, "The film follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through". Yep, that certainly sounds like Five Nights at Freddy's to us.

The post also reconfirms some of the principal cast who are working on the movie and notably mentions that Scott Cawthon was one of the main scriptwriters for the film and also worked as a producer alongside Jason Blum. Finally, the post also announces for the first time that the movie will release simultaneously in theatres and on Peacock, something that hadn't previously been mentioned.

Blumhouse's cast list is missing one person who seems very likely to be making a cameo, though - Markiplier. Earlier this year, Markiplier was even asked about appearing in the movie, and gave a very strange response to that seemed to indicate that he was hiding any involvement. We can see with this cast list posted on Instagram that everyone involved is still trying to keep it a secret. Or hey, maybe he's really not in it. Guess we'll see this October.
