Florida State football returns from a bye week to face Duke in an ACC matchup on Friday night.

The Seminoles (1-5) have never lost to the Blue Devils (5-1), winning all 22 games played between the programs with the last game ending in a 38-20 win for FSU. Both teams are coming off a bye week with the Seminoles losing to Clemson 29-13 and Duke falling to Georgia Tech 24-14.

FSU will start Brock Glenn at quarterback as he makes his second career start following the injury to DJ Uiagalelei. The Seminoles enter the game a three-point underdog.

Florida State vs Duke score updates

FSU football highlights vs Duke

FSU football continues its woes offensively. It would result in the Seminoles suffering its sixth loss of the season. The loss also breaks FSU's 22-game winning streak against Duke.

The Seminoles committed four turnovers. Three came quarterback Brock Glenn, who was benched in the second quarter. Glenn finished 110 passing yards and two interceptions.

Duke only produced only 180 total yards. Duke's running back, Star Thomas, led with 88 yards and a touchdown. Duke is now 6-1.

It was another opportunity for the offense to be wasted by a turnover. This time, it came freshman running back Kam Davis. Davis fumbled on a six-yard run before fumbling at Duke's 33.

Christian Rorie recovered the fumble. FSU committed four turnovers and trails 23-16 with less than five minutes left to play. Davis was shaken up after the play and taken to the blue tent for evaluation.

The second half remains a field goal frenzy.

Todd Pelino hit a 39-yard field goal for Duke to extend its lead, 23-16, with 8:59 left in the fourth quarter. Duke's running back Star Thomas's 44-yard run set up the scoring drive for the Blue Devils.

FSU football keeps stacking up points on special teams. Ryan Fitzgerald hit a 38-yard field goal for the Seminoles to trail 20-16 with under 12 minutes left to play in the fourth quarter.

Fitzgerald is 3 for 4 in field goal attempts.

After the explosive kick return for a touchdown by FSU to open the half, Duke's offense drove downfield and kicked a field goal in response.

The Blue Devils went on a 10-play, 48-yard drive to make it a touchdown game. A drop by Duke wide receiver Javon Harvey on third down led to the kick, which snuck inside the left side of the goal post.

Q3 | Duke 20, FSU 13

The Seminoles offense didn't have to step foot on the field to cut into the Duke lead. Redshirt freshman running back Samuel Singelton returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown to cut the lead to 17-13.

FSU's last kick return touchdown came against Duke in 2023, when Deuce Spann returned one for a score vs. the Blue Devils. It was a critical moment in the 38-20 win, giving FSU momentum to win.

Q3 | Duke 17, FSU 13

Despite outgaining Duke 150 to 62 yards, FSU trail the Blue Devils 17-6 at halftime after giving up three scores off turnovers.

In three plays Brock Glenn threw a pick-six, fumbled the ball and threw another interception. All three turnovers ended in scores for Duke, with the fumble and second interception ending in a field goal and touchdown. Glenn was replaced by Luke Kromenhoek after that.

FSU is currently having its best rushing game of the season, recording 107 yards in the first half, 49 yards over their average per game.

FSU's wide receivers had three big drops in the first half. A third-down drop by Malik Benson led to the blocked field goal on fourth down. Kentron Poitier dropped a touchdown pass from Kromenhoek and Hykeem Williams dropped a pass that would have set FSU up for a field goal at the end of the half.

HALFTIME: Duke 17, FSU 6

Following the fumble, Glenn returned to the field and threw an interception on his first play from scrimmage.

Duke would score a field goal on its resulting drive. Glenn was replaced by true freshman quarterback Luke Kromenhoek on the next drive.

Kromenhoek was sacked once and made a four-yard run on his first drive before punting.

Q2 | Duke 17, FSU 3

The Seminoles couldn't stop Duke on a 4th and 1 as running back Star Thomas scored on a two-yard rush to extend the Blue Devils lead to 14-3.

The score came after Brock Glenn fumbled the ball on his first play after throwing the pick-six. The two turnovers resulted in a 14-point swing, giving Duke the lead and momentum.

Q2 | Duke 14, FSU 3

After a promising start, FSU's offense hit a wall.

Glenn threw the pick-six, then on the first play following the interception he fumbled the ball on a quarterback run.

Duke has the ball on FSU's 27 and faces 3rd and 1 to start the second quarter.

FSU finished the first quarter with 116 yards of total offense, 37 passing yards and 79 rushing yards. However, the two turnovers proved costly. The Seminoles defense has allowed Duke's offense 34 yards of total offense and no points.

End Q1 | Duke 7, FSU 3

After a risky fourth down fake punt call that ended in a 31-yard gain by Kyle Morlock, FSU couldn't capitalize on momentum as its field goal was blocked by Duke.

There was a miscommunication on the snap and hold that led to Fitzgerlad miss hitting the kick and getting it blocked.

The Seminoles defense forced a punt out of Duke's offense, however, Brock Glenn threw a pick-six on the next drive to let Duke take the lead.

Q1 | Duke 7, FSU 3

The Seminoles defense has started strong. The unit has allowed just 11 yards of total offense on Duke's first three drives, all 11 coming in the air.

Fentrell Cypress has broken up multiple passes, he has been targeted heavily by Duke and he has held his own. Duke quarterback Maalik Murphy has started the game 3-of-7.

The Seminoles score first with a 23-yard field goal from Ryan Fitzgerald.

FSU's defense forced a three-and-out on Duke's first drive.

Lawrance Toafili recorded a 10-yard rush to open the Seminoles drive, followed up by a 27-yard catch on a screen to set up FSU in the red zone. Two Kam Davis rushes and a short gain on a pass to Hykeem Williams resulted in the short field goal.

This is FSU's first lead since the game vs. Cal.

Q1 | 3 FSU, 0 Duke

The Seminoles won the coin toss and deferred the kickoff option to the second half. FSU will start the game on defense.

FSU's captains were Darius Washington, Lawrance Toafili, Fentrell Cypress and Joshua Farmer.

Duke starts its first drive at the 26 yard line.

The Seminoles took the field for warmups with its entire depth chart dressed out.

Quarterbacks Brock Glenn and Luke Kromenhoek took the field for warmups as both young signal callers could potentially see the field tonight.

Linebacker Blake Nichelson is dressed and looks to be available after sporting a wrap on his arm in practice this week (he was still a full participant in practice all week)

Scouts from the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans are in attendance for the Seminoles game vs. Duke.

There also representatives from the Pop Tarts bowl, Gator Bowl, Senior Bowl and Hula Bowl.

FSU will wear its road white jerseys with gold helmets and garnet pants vs. Duke.

The Seminoles have arrived at Wallace Wade Stadium with kickoff just under two hours away in Durham.

Duke will wear blue jerseys and black pants with a black helmet.

FSU vs Duke predictions

Liam Rooney, Tallahassee Democrat: Duke 17, FSU 10

"Glenn will continue to show signs of life at quarterback, but the inability to get in the endzone and continued rushing struggles will ultimately be the reason FSU can't get a win on the road. The Duke defense proves why it's one of the top FSU has faced this season, forcing multiple sacks and negative plays en route to a hard-fought, gritty win."

Peter Holland Jr., Tallahassee Democrat: FSU 15, Duke 13

"It's an odd score, but it could be an odd game. FSU needs this win more than Duke. Like the Cal game, it will be a dogfight until the end. This is where defense and special teams can lead the way to victory at Wallace Wade Stadium. FSU has to get to Murphy and create turnovers."

Reed Wallach, SI.com: Take the under

"While it’s tough to back Florida State to stay competitive against any team, Duke is being vastly overrated. The team hasn’t beat a team inside the top half of the country in terms of net EPA/Play. Now, Florida State is a far cry from that, but does still have talent on both sides of the ball as well as the ability to possibly be recovering from its rock bottom rating."
