The Broncos (4-5) also began the year 0-3 and dropped two of their next three contests but are coming off their third straight victory, a 24-22 triumph at Buffalo on Monday Night Football.

Kickoff from Empower Field in Denver is set for 8:20 p.m. ET. Why the Broncos can cover

Denver's current run has been nothing short of stunning, considering the team ranks last in the NFL in total defense (401.8 yards allowed), rushing defense (158.3) and points allowed (27.6). However, the club has tightened up of late, giving up averages of 324.7 yards and 16 points during the winning streak. The points-allowed average is the lowest in the league over that span.

Russell Wilson has gone five straight contests with fewer than 200 passing yards but has thrown nine touchdown passes and only two interceptions during that stretch. The 34-year-old quarterback was incredibly accurate against the Bills last week, connecting on 24 of his 29 attempts for an 82.8 completion percentage. Wilson has had plenty of success versus Minnesota over his career, throwing for 1,504 yards with 14 TDs and three interceptions while winning six of his seven meetings with the club. See which team to pick here.

Why the Vikings can cover

Minnesota has been without star receiver Justin Jefferson (hamstring) for the last five games and quarterback Kirk Cousins (Achilles) for the past two but still ranks third in the NFL in passing offense with an average of 272.4 yards. The Vikings have three players with more than 570 receiving yards, with T.J. Hockenson leading the charge with 681 on 71 catches. The 26-year-old tight end, who is dealing with injured ribs but active for Sunday's contest, posted his first 100-yard performance of the season (134) last week.

Rookie Jordan Addison is second on the Vikings with 603 yards and leads the club with seven touchdown receptions. Meanwhile, quarterback Joshua Dobbs has been a godsend since being acquired from Arizona at the trade deadline, throwing for 426 yards and three TDs while running for 110 yards and a pair of scores in his first two games with Minnesota. The 28-year-old journeyman has recorded both a passing and rushing touchdown in three consecutive contests, which is the fourth-longest such streak in the NFL since the 1970 merger. See which team to pick here.
