Angela Murray, Big Brother 26

Love her or hate her, Angela Murray just entered the “Big Brother” record books for quite an impressive accomplishment. The Season 26 firebrand is now the seventh person throughout the reality TV show’s history to win Head of Household twice during the first four weeks of gameplay. The last time this rare feat happened was during “BB18” with Paulie Calafiore, which means we’ve had eight seasons without a repeat HOH within the first four weeks.

Prior to Angela and Paulie, there was Shelli Poole in “BB17,” Frankie Grande in “BB16,” Rachel Reilly in “BB13” and in “BB12,” Jessie Godderz in “BB11,” and Janelle Pierzina in “BB7.” (Note that Seasons 17 and 16 had two HOHs each week, so there was a higher chance someone would claim victory twice with that twist.)

Angela won the first Head of Household competition of Season 26 by rolling balls onto an LED screen and earning the most points. During her reign, she rubbed most of her houseguests the wrong way with her power-trippy attitude (remember the whole “crazy eyes” fight with Matt Hardeman?), which resulted in her being nominated for eviction during Weeks 2 and 3 by Chelsie Baham and Cedric Hodges, respectively.

Cut to Week 4, and the 50-year-old real estate agent from Long Beach, CA just became Head of Household again by dominating the “BAD AI” comp. This time around, she promises to handle things differently by not creating waves in the house. And she may well live up to that promise thanks to Quinn Martin not-so-secretly taking over her nomination powers thanks to his “DeepFake HOH” upgrade. In other words, Angela doesn’t have to get any blood on her hands, and she’s safe from being put up on the block.

Last week, Gold Derby conducted a poll asking viewers why they hated Angela so much, and the results are quite interesting. A whopping 76% think she’s a “bully,” compared to 10% who claim she’s “too emotional” and 8% who say she’s “just there to be famous.” The remaining 6% of poll respondents voted that they are Angela fans who “love” her on the show.

Looking ahead, CBS will air a special episode of “Big Brother” on Tuesday, August 13 featuring commentary from former winners Jag Bains, Taylor Hale and Cody Calafiore. The regular competition then continues on Wednesday, August 14 (Veto episode) and Thursday, August 15 (live eviction episode).
