Bayern have not been afraid to utilise some physicality against Messi, as Goretzka steps forward to block him off.

Mbappe attacking

19' Bayern Munich 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain

(Bayern lead 1-0 on aggregate)

Messi releases Mbappe on the right side, but the Frenchman's first touch is too heavy and the ball runs too far for him to do anything with it.

PSG better than three weeks ago

15' Bayern Munich 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain

(Bayern lead 1-0 on aggregate)

Already a different tone set by PSG to the first leg, which was expected, particularly after Galtier’s comments pre-match.

They are willing to press a little higher, with Messi and Mbappe looking to stop Bayern playing out even from the goalkeeper. It is tentative, though, that balance of risk and reward and not becoming too exposed. The visitors are willing to let Bayern have the ball, and then sting them with a pass in behind.

Mbappe on your shoulder is a frightening prospect…Bayern yet to enjoy a fluent spell of pressure.

PSG send a ball over the top of Bayern's defence for Mbappe to chase. Sommer beats him to the ball and the two collide quite strongly. Sommer drops the ball but Mbappe is whistled for a foul.

Mbappe's first attack

5' Bayern Munich 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain

(Bayern lead 1-0 on aggregate)

Early warning sign of the Parisian threat. Mbappe with a cute flick to Ruiz who returns the favour. He is forced wide though and his shot is held by Sommer.

PSG sitting in a 5-3-2 out of possession, 3-5-2 with it. Christophe Galtier has already furiously instructed Hakimi to move high and wide when on the ball. They don’t want to be trapped in a five against this Bayern side, who have controlled most of the possession so far.

Messi hits 150

With his start tonight, Lionel Messi becomes the third player to reach 150 games started in the Champions League after Iker Casillas (176) and Cristiano Ronaldo (178).

If PSG are knocked out tonight though, could it be his last?

Perfectly balanced head-to-head history

This is the 13th Champions League meeting between Bayern Munich and PSG, with each side winning six of the previous 12 matches.

Galtier: We have to be very aggressive offensively

Christophe Galtier has spoken to RMC Sport ahead of this match: "My speech to the players? We have to believe together and give it our all. There are no calculations to be made. Tactics are one thing, but we'll need to go beyond the call of duty.

"We have to win it. There are plenty of scenarios that can take us through tonight. The first thing is to win, score goals and defend well. We need to get the ball back as soon as possible, that will be the best for us.

"They have great use of width, with very offensive players. We're going to have to be very aggressive offensively when we get control of the ball, and we're going to have to get out of their pressing and play vertical quickly."

On Marquinhos starting after recently suffering a rib muscle injury: "He's doing well, he did three quarters of the session yesterday. All the signs are good, he's going to start."

On whether his side have prepared for the possibility of penalty kicks: "There hasn't been any specific work, but we're ready for all eventualities."

Analysing PSG's line-up

There are not too many surprises from Christophe Galtier's line-up ahead of tonight's clash.

The standout selection is Achraf Hakimi, who has not played since the first leg defeat (February 14) due to a hamstring issue. In the meantime, he has also come under criminal investigation for rape in Paris, but he plays here in Munich. He will be tasked with providing width, alongside wing-back Nuno Mendes on the opposite flank.

The 3-5-2 formation that has rekindled hope in Paris since the first leg will be deployed again by Galtier, meaning all eyes will be on the partnership between Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in attack. Can they turn this tie around?

Elsewhere, the influential Marquinhos is fit enough to play after a recent rib muscle injury.

Coman haunts PSG

Kingsley Coman, Paris native and former PSG player, has positively haunted his old team.

He scored the lone goal in Bayern Munich's win over PSG in the 2020 Champions League final, and he did the same in the first leg three weeks ago:
