United Kingdom Bank robbery reported in Lawrence; no injuries, police say

A bank robbery was reported at Bank of America in Lawrence Tuesday morning, according to the Lawrence Police Department.
Police said in a social media post that the alleged bank robbery took place around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday at 900 Ohio St.
“Initial reports suggest a man in a black beanie cap with a black mask with a design on it, and possibly all black clothing, fled the bank to the south in the alley between Tennessee Street and Ohio Street,” according to the post.
No injuries have been reported, according to LPD’s post.
This is the second time in recent years that this location has been robbed. Another robbery was reported in November 2021.
A reporter at the scene observed police officers deploying a drone. Police often use a drone to seek suspects with a broader perspective.
Police were also searching in the area of Veterans Park and Lawrence High School around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police are asking people who live between Vermont and Louisiana, Eighth and 13th streets to please check home security cameras if they have them.
They ask that anyone who has video from that area and may have captured anything of interest before or after the robbery to contact dispatch at 785-832-7509.
