AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - UPDATE: Virginia State Police say three children kidnapped from Virginia Thursday morning have been found safe, and they have canceled an AMBER Alert that was part of the search.
No further information has been released.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the apparent kidnapping of three children Thursday morning.
Virginia State Police have issued an AMBER Alert as part of the search.

The sheriff’s office was told about a kidnapping that took place outside the Bobby’s Way Apartment complex in Fishersville. The caller’s three children were waiting for the bus when the driver of a black 4-door vehicle stopped and three children were pulled into the vehicle.
Police say they may be with their biological mother, Shanice Chante Davison and they may be headed to Alabama. Davison is described as 5’ 6” and 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She may be driving a black four-door sedan. Davison is wanted on three counts of felony abduction.
Virginia State Police say the car may be a newer model Nissan Sentra; they don’t know the license plate number.

The children are Jai’Marcus Lewis, 10, Ja’Miyah Lewis, 8, and Ja’Liyah Lewis, 6, according to the sheriff’s office. They were last reported seen at the bus stop about 7:40 a.m.
Both of the girls were wearing pink jackets and the boy was wearing a black and dark blue jacket with neon zippers.
Anyone who sees Davison or the children is urged not to approach them. Instead, contact local law enforcement. Investigators believe Davison has crossed state lines and is no longer in Virginia.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Davison or the children is asked to contact the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 540-245-5333 and ask for Investigator Ron Reid. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-322-2017.
