Amber Alert issued for missing 5-year-old boy in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Update: The Kansas Bureau of Investigation reports that 5-year-old Trevawn Strong Jr. has been found and is safe with the Wichita Police Department. This ends the Amber Alert that was issued Wednesday evening after the boy’s father forcibly took him from a south Wichita home.
An Amber Alert is issued for a five-year-old boy reportedly kidnapped by his father from a home in the 2000 block of South Grove, in Wichita. Wichita police say Trevawn Strong Jr. “is in imminent danger.”
Police said a little before 5 p.m., the boy was forcibly taken from his mother by his father, Trevawn Strong Sr. Police said the father was armed with a knife and a gun during a domestic disturbance at their home. Police said Strong Sr. threatened to kill the boy and stabbed the boy’s mother before taking him.
Police said Trevawn Strong Sr. left in a vehicle which was later recovered in the 1900 block of North Woodlawn.
Trevawn Strong Jr. was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, and black shoes. The boy has his hair in a ponytail, police say.
Trevawn Strong Sr. is 30 and stands about 5′10 and weighs about 175 pounds. He has brown eyes, long hair, facial hair, and tattoos on his arms, chest, neck and under his right eye. He was last seeing wearing a white t-shirt, gray shorts and red shoes.
“Call 911 immediately if you have seen the missing child or suspect. If you have other information on the missing child, call 911 or 316-383-4661,” police advise.
